What is the SACP?
The Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP), is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of analytical chemistry through science education.

The SACP is dedicated to the education of the membership, of the community
and of the future scientists in our schools. By educating the children and
the community, a new generation is being prepared to meet the future.
Continuing Education helps to keep the members current with new
technologies, instrumentation and methods. The society provides awards,
scholarships and grants both locally and nationally.
Members are involved in joint endeavors with the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh, (the Pittsburgh Section of
the American Chemical Society), and Pittcon, (The Pittsburgh Conference).

Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award
The Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award was presented to RAOUL KOPELMAN , University of Michigan, at the Pittsburgh Conference in Atlanta, March, 2011. This award is presented annually to recognize significant contributions to the field of analytical chemistry by the introduction of a technique, theory, or instrument, or by providing exceptional training or a fertile environment for analytical chemists. The topics and speakers in this symposium included: Magnetorotation Based Ultra-small Biomedical Platforms for Real-time Monitoring of 3-dimensional Morphology Development in Single Cells: From Bacteria to Cancer RAOUL KOPELMAN, Molecular Transfer and Transport: What Controls the Conductance? Pittsburgh Conference Achievement Award
The Pittsburgh Conference Achievement Award was presented to DR. LINGJUN LI, University of Wisconsin-Madison at the 2011 Pittsburgh Conference in Altanta, GA. This award, sponsored jointly by the Pittsburgh Conference and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP), recognizes individuals who have made outstanding achievements within 10 years after completion of their PhD work. Professor Li is being recognized for the number and depth of her contributions in the field of mass spectrometric study of neuropeptides and functional peptidomics. The topics and speakers at this symposium included: Mass Spectrometry-based Tools for Probing Neuronal Communication LINGJUN LI, University of Wisconsin; D-Amino Acids in our Brain? JONATHAN V SWEEDLER, University of Illinois; Monitoring Brain Chemistry In-vivo Using New Sampling and Analysis Methods ROBERT KENNEDY, University of Michigan; Diagonal Capillary Electrophoresis NORMAN J.
